What is product management anyway?

Each event we choose one topic or question to discuss that is important to Product teams. This time we're trying to understand what 'product management' is anyway, and our very own Kayliegh will kick things off by telling us about her product management journey to-date.

Since transitioning from marketing communications to product management, Kayliegh's filled the role of product manager within a few different teams, but each role has taken a different shape. This has left her wondering, what does "normal" look like when it comes to successful product teams, or is there even such a thing?
